6th January 2017 Coming soon, a For Sale page

Chris and I have gathered a few paintings and models that we would like to offer for sale so I will be setting up a for sale page in the next week.

3rd September 2016 - Rob is awarded Runner Up and Commended in the Rolling Stock Category in the Gauge O Guild's modelling competition held at Guildex

I was surprised and very please to be awarded trophies as runner up and commended (2nd and 3rd) in the Rolling Stock category at Guildex in Telford on the 3rd of September. Having seen the standard of the competition entries, I didn't think that I stood much chance.

My winning entries were, a "condemned van" and a section of an "Ex North British Railway goods train" that consisted of 5 scratch built wagons.

Apparently although part of the entered section of the train (I entered a full train consisting of five sections) this was the wagon that stole the show and took the Runner Up award for me.

25th August 2016 - Chris has an article about her and her railway paintings published in Heritage Railway

The August/September edition of Heritage Railway magazine carried a very well written article on Chris and her female intrusion into the man's world of railway art. The article was written by Geoff Courtney.

Due to a hiccup in the synchronisation of my email, Chris only found out about the article when Malcolm Root congratulated her on such a smashing article. To say she was speechless is a bit of an understatement! We were at Kidderminster Railway Museum for the opening of Railart 2016 at the time, so Malcolm and I hurried down to the station shop, to buy a copy to see the article in the flesh ourselves.

23rd of August 2016 - Chris has two paintings selected for inclusion in Railart 2016

At the selection which took place on the 23rd of August, Chris had two paintings accepted for inclusion in Railart 2016 - "De-Light at Holbeck" and "27 The Last Autumn". Sadly we still haven't managed to get a decent photo of the last Autumn.

8th August 2015 - Chris has a painting selected for exhibition at RailArt 2015

At the selection for Railart 2015 to be held at the NRM in York, Chris had another painting accepted.

The painting "The return of a Desert Rat" was one that she really wanted to be accepted. This is because she had donated a full sized print on canvas the the group who are restoring Vera Lynn (the subject loco in the painting) to enable them to sell or raffle it off, to raise funds for the restoration.

23rd of August 2014 The selection for the 2014 Railart exhibition

On 23rd of August 2014, the selection for the 2014 Railart exhibition was held at Kidderminster Railway Museum on the Severn Valley Railway.

Chris had two of her paintings accepted, "Should We Really Be Here" and "'27' The Last Autumn".

28th April 2014 - Chris sells a print of Westgate and 3 others to East Coast Railways for display in the new Wakefield Station

When she heard that East Coast Rail were to build a new station in Wakefield Chris emailed them to ask if they would be interested in a print of her Wakefield Westgate painting (depicting the station in 1926) for display in the new station. She didn't hear anything for quite sometime and then she received a phone call from the station manager who was interested. We took the original down to the station for him to view and while there he asked if Chris had any more.

Chris advised that she did but that they would need to visit our house to view them. Arrangements were made and eventually they settled on having prints of "Wakefield Westgate", "Boys and Their Toys", "Should We Really Be Here" and "Shed Bunking"

17th August 2013 - Chris has paintings accepted for Railart 2013, her first proper exhibition.

Chris took four of her paintings along to the selection for Railart 2013 exhibition, held on Saturday the 17th of August at Locomotion in Shildon County Durham.

All four were accepted and we returned the following week to help to hang them. The Paintings are "Fletcher 901", "Buckeye Coupling", "Quietly Gleaming" and "Shed Bunking"

1st June 2013 - Chris accepted as an Associate Member of the Guild of Railway Artists.

On the 1st of June 2013 - We took a selection of Chris's railway paintings along to Toddington Village Hall adjacent to the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway.

After inspection and review of them by members of the Guild Council Chris was accepted as an Associate Member of the Guild of Railway Artists.

Chris was then invited to remain for the Guild's AGM but by this point she was worn out from the excitement of the day.
